JOB PROFILE

This position is responsible to direct and control security operations within the entire Institute, Coordinate the transport system of the Institute and their safety as well as Administration function.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOBS

Managerial / Supervisory/ Operational Responsibilities or roles:

a)      Advice management on security requirements for the Institute, develop and enforce sound security policy and procedures to protect staff, clients, visitors and safeguard Institute assets.

b)      Manage both internal and external investigations and act as a liaison officer to all interested parties including police and auditors.

c)       Provide security briefing to staff as needed and ensure that all staffs adhere to security policies and procedures. This includes briefing to all newly recruited staff joining KIM.

d)      Maintain comprehensive records of all investigation findings and action plans.

e)       Liaise with relevant authorities, which includes ministry of foreign affairs, airports security personnel and police in planning logistics for dignitaries attending KIM events e.g. KIM Convention, Graduations, COYA among others for safe running of the events.

f)        Inspect equipment, structures or materials to identify possible causes of security lapses and communicate the findings to the management.

g)      Ensure active participation of the (OSHE) Committees and first Aiders to enhance safety and health of the Institute’s staff.

h)      Ensuring safety of all Institute vehicles by ensuring that they are well maintained, serviced and always in clean condition and that the insurance and road license is always updated on time.

i)        Supervise and allocate duties to all the Institute drivers and evaluate them in accordance with Institute performance appraisal standards.

j)        Coordinate the Institute Administration function in terms of managing bills, repairs and both incoming and outgoing mails.

k)      Participate in safety committees, education programs and joint consultations affecting the work force.

l)        Maintain and take charge of the KIM CCTV system and ensuring its functional all the time.

m)    Manage outsourced security service provider in all KIM 19 branches to ensure effective security for the Institute.


Minimum level of academic qualification, skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in the role:

Bachelor degree in Criminology and security studies from a recognized institution.

Certification in investigations.

Four(4) years of experience.
